Julie Sartori

Artist & Explorer of the Living

My work emerged from a deep acceptance of life's fragility, impermanence, and inner transformation.

At the age of twelve, I experienced the sudden death of my younger sister. This event profoundly reshaped my relationship with life, the body, fear, and love. It marked the beginning of a long journey through post-traumatic stress, hypervigilance, depression, and an ongoing search for meaning.

For many years, I searched for a way to continue living with this acute awareness of life's profound fragility.

Art became that place.

A place where beauty learns to coexist with shadow. Where opposites can finally meet: joy and sorrow, emptiness and fullness, loss and abundance, gentleness and strength.

Through my work, I seek to make this reconciliation visible. To remind us that light does not erase shadow—it exists alongside it. That our humanity is found not in perfection, but in our capacity to embrace every part of who we are.

The name Flow'rescences embodies the way I see the world today.

It speaks of flow—the living current that moves through us, transforms us, sometimes breaks us open, yet continually sets us in motion.

And of florescence—the blossoming that emerges from within, born at the very heart of our human journey.

Today, I see art as a space of universal consciousness. A space that reminds us that everything is paradoxical, everything is woven from contrast. And that this is precisely what makes the experience of being alive so infinitely precious.

Through watercolor, gold leaf, symbolism, and inner landscapes, my work explores the beauty of impermanence, the strength found in vulnerability, the human journey, and the coexistence of opposites.

I invite you to slow down, to feel, to reconnect with a deeper presence to life, and to inhabit your own life with greater awareness, beauty, gentleness, and joy.

May you discover, somewhere within my creations, an echo of your truest self.

With tenderness,

Julie
